Ann attended the Edible Sac High Launch in Sacramento October 9 at the Sacramento Charter High School where Alice Waters, American Chef, Activist, Co-Owner of Chez Panisse — as well as author of the forward to The Davis Farmers Cookbook — was a featured speaker. Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson is a partner with Alice in this great endeavor. We wish them every success — and for more information go to www.EdibleSacHigh.org.
Capital Public Radio’s Insight Shop
Ann had the opportunity to speak with Beth Ruyak July 19 – check out the audio. Hear more of the back story and about the beginnings of the market – and what Ann is shopping for right now at the market — like tomatoes for that savory tart — we give the basic recipe page 37 — and you can convert it to an heirloom tomato tart. Here’s the link to the audio. Capital Public Radio Insight Show (Photo by Craig Lee, our photographer, of course…from the book.)

Chez Panisse Celebrates the Davis Farmers Market Cookbook
Georgeanne and I celebrated our cookbook with family, friends and guests last night at Alice Waters’ famed Chez Panisse Restaurant in Berkeley. The chefs created a menu inspired by our book. The food, surroundings and company were so much fun. Special thanks to Alice, who wrote the forward to our book.
Farm Fresh to You Giving Away Our Book
Farm Fresh to You is giving away our book in a contest with their members. How fun. Founders of both the Davis Farmers Market and Farm Fresh to You, Kathy Barsotti and Martin Barnes, would be so proud of their sons and families who own and run the operation now. Yeah, power to the second generation.
We’re having our first book party – actually a pre book party
First order today from UC Davis Stores
As of November 26, you will be able to get gift cards for the holidays from UC Davis Stores (both locations) as well as local retailers, see home page. We were so excited to come back with a purchase order. The last photo shoot of finished dishes will be November 19.
