Ann M. Evans is a cofounder of the Davis Farmers Market and the Davis Food Co-op. A former Mayor of the City of Davis, California, she had a 30 year career in state government as a consultant, including the Department of Consumer Affairs where she helped developed the certified farmers market regulations, the California State Legislature where she was chief consultant to the Assembly Committee on Education, and the Department of Education, where she served as a special advisor to the Superintendent. She is a food and agriculture columnist for 4 periodicals in the Sacramento region and coauthor of 3 books. With her business partner and co-author of the Davis Farmers Market Cookbook, Georgeanne Brennan, she works on shortening the distance from farm to table in schools, hospitals and businesses – providing strategic planning, workshops, development and policy expertise.

Georgeanne Brennan is an author, journalist, educator, and consultant. She is the author of more than 30 cookbooks and garden books, as well as a memoir, A Pig in Provence, and has received both a James Beard and a Julia Child award. Her food features have appeared in such publications as Bon Appétit, Fine Cooking, and Everyday with Rachael Ray. She is a regular contributor to the award-winning San Francisco Chronicle Food Section, as well as contributing to local publications such Edible Sacramento and the Davis Enterprise.
